What do girls love most? Of course, flowers and decorations. Numerous needlework techniques allow everyone to make flowers on their own. For this you can use satin or any other ribbons, and use the finished work to decorate clothes, accessories or home decoration. Consider the most popular and simple techniques.
Realistic flowers
Using this technique, anyone can make flowers that will look natural.
At first glance, it is very difficult. But it turns out that even a beginner can handle it.
To create flowers will need the following materials:
- Ribbon (polyester, organza, rayon). The width of the ribbon will depend on how large the flower is to be made.
- Needle and thread of the same shade as the prepared tape.
- Scissors.
- Candle.
The technique of execution will tell, for example, tape, 5 cm wide.
For a start, it is cut into individual rectangles 5 * 7 cm, 4 * 6 cm, 3 * 5 cm and 2 * 4 cm. Each of the rectangles needs to be made of 6-10 pieces.The exact amount depends on how lush the flower should be.
Petals are cut from each rectangle. At the same time, the accuracy and evenness of the lines here is not fundamental. The main thing is that all the cut petals differed in size.
In the next step, the petals are shaped. To do this, their edges are melted over the fire from the candle. This should be done carefully, bringing the tape to the fire no closer than 2 cm. With careful, but not slow movements, the petal rotates around the fire. The more to keep the petal near the fire, the rounded it will turn out its shape.
You need to start collecting the flower from the smallest petal. For this, it is rolled up and fixed with several stitches in its lower part. It will be the core.
Nearby is attached another small petal. Thus, each other petals are attached one after another in ascending order of their size. To make the flower look neat, you should stick to the chess order.
Flowers are ready!
Adding inside the thread or beads, you can get a completely different flower.
Simple flowers
These flowers are made as quickly as possible, therefore, are often used to decorate a gift.
In order to make such a flower out of a ribbon, you need to prepare:
- tape;
- beads or other decor as desired;
- scissors;
- glue gun.
First you need to make a template. To do this, cut out a cardboard circle of the desired diameter. Gently glue the tape to the top of the pattern, making pleating.
Wrapping the tape in a spiral, glue it onto the entire surface of the circle in several layers. Having reached the middle, the excess tape is cut, and its end is glued to the cardboard.
The middle is decorated with beads, which are glued with a glue gun.
Textured flower
If you are faced with the task of decorating a brooch, bezel or other accessory, then you can make a flower out of a braid-wave.
For this you need to prepare:
- band-wave. On one flower will need about 50-60 cm ribbon of average width. If you want to make a two-color flower, then take 2 ribbons, each about 25-30 cm long;
- scissors;
- needle and thread of the same color as the selected tape;
- sewing machine.
To begin, 2 braids need to be twisted, and at the ends with something to fasten.

But, if the sewing machine was not at hand, then you can fasten 2 tapes with a needle and thread. To do this, make large stitches along the ribbon.
To form a flower is quite simple. It is necessary to fold the tape, fixing one edge with a glue gun.
The result is a bud. The free edge of the tape is rolled down and fixed with hot glue.
A small circle of cardboard, felt or any thick fabric is glued to the base. Depending on which flower you need, you can straighten each petal out.
Poinsettia
Poinsettia ribbons are ideal for decorating a wreath, pillow or rim.
For this you need to prepare:
- tapes whose width is 4-6 cm;
- tapes 2-3 cm wide;
- scissors;
- glue gun;
- needle and thread. Its shade should match the shade of the base (wire jewelry) or petals;
- beads for decoration.
First, 3 identical rhombuses are cut off from the tape. To do this, several segments of the tape are stacked on each other, folded in half and, cutting off the excess at the edges, triangles are obtained. Deploying them, you get the same diamonds. In the middle, each diamond is tied with thread or wire.
3 blanks are stacked next to each other and tied with a thread or wire. Beads are stuck in the center.
To create leaves from a ribbon, 2 pieces of about 6–9 cm long are cut off. One of them is placed on the wrong side up and bent so that the letter G is formed. Next, the blank is folded in half and the shape of the house is obtained, the lower part of which is fixed by glue or stitch thread.
The leaves are fixed behind the poinsettia and attached to the base.
Satin Ribbon Flower
Having mastered this technique, you can not only decorate accessories, but also create real bouquets.
All that is needed is a ribbon and a needle with thread in the same tape.
Wrap the edge of the tape.
Gently twist the edge to make a bud. At the end we fix it with a thread.
Turn the long edge outwards.
Gradually turning the flower, wind the ribbon on it. After 1 turn, fix the edge with a string.
At the very end, just drop the tape down and fix it with a string.
Additionally, you can make leaves. For this tape 6 cm long and 2-3 cm wide is folded in half.
Triangle is cut.
So that the ribbon does not unfold, it must be treated with fire (using a lighter, a match or a candle). While the edges are hot, they need to be compressed. It remains to turn out the sheet.
Even if you do not have a needle or glue on hand, you can make a flower as follows. Cut the squares from the ribbon and, using tweezers, carefully wrap the corner towards the center.
Holding the rolled up corner, do the same with the opposite.
Roll the resulting strip in half and fix with thread.
So make a few petals that tie to the base of the bud.
For the stem, you can use wire wrapped with a green ribbon.
Kanzashi
Recently, this technique is becoming more and more popular among needlewomen. After all, with its help you can create whole pictures.
First you need to cut out of the ribbon squares, the ends of which are burned on the fire.
Each square folded in half.
Fold the resulting triangle in half.
Turning the workpiece in the same way again, burn its edges.
Cut and burn the bottom corner. It remains only to form a flower.
Using a ribbon of different colors, you can form multi-colored compositions.
