It is autumn on the street, it will soon begin to rain, and the colors of autumn will fade. I want to bring something bright and unusual into my life. You can decorate the interior with an art object using the decoupage technique and a glass bottle. Decoupage, in essence, imitates artistic painting. The image is volumetric.
Let's try to make a beautiful decorative vase from a bottle of the original form. Moreover, it will be possible to put beautiful feathers in it, dried cotton stalks, autumn leaves of amazing beauty. And the three-layer napkin with the image of birds of paradise has already been acquired. It remains only to use the technique of Martha Stewart.
Materials for decoupage
To work you need to get:
- A bottle, it is desirable that it was not too convex.
- Three-layer napkins. We have an image of birds of paradise on them.
- The means allowing to degrease a glass surface. In our case, it is alcohol.
- Special glue or PVA.
- Acrylic lacquer.
- Synthetic tassels of different formats.
- Manicure scissors.
- A piece of foam rubber.
When performing this work is best to use a glossy finish. It perfectly preserves the finished product. You can even use a dishwasher for washing a vase!
Stepwise decoupage
As soon as the birds of paradise are on the bottle, we cover them with a new layer of glue with a wide brush. Leave the product to dry for about two hours.
Apply the image to the selected place on the glass surface with the middle part. Then align to the edges using a brush or a piece of foam so that no wrinkles or bubbles form.
Immediately apply glue to the prepared image from the inside.- We apply glue for decoupage or PVA glue on the surface of the future vase. Do it with a brush.
Manicure scissors neatly cut out the image of birds of paradise with napkins. You can also pull out the picture, in this case there will be no clear lines. To work you need only the top of the napkin. We have the details on the desktop.- Cooking a bottle. We remove the label from the bottle, soaking it in warm, soapy water. A cleanly washed bottle should be thoroughly degreased. For these purposes, it is best to use vodka, nail polish remover, glass cleaner. In this case, alcohol is selected. It is not necessary to apply a primer for autumn scenery. Pay attention to the choice of color glass. We need a colorless transparent bottle.
We cover the picture and the whole bottle with a colorless acrylic varnish.- The procedure should be repeated again 3-4 times, allowing the work to dry for at least two hours.
Our new vase is ready, but you cannot immediately exploit this masterpiece. It should stand for about a month for the base to solidify. After that, you can not only wipe it, but also, if necessary, wash it. Wow!
After a month of drying, the image becomes transparent. Vase looks great against other crafts in the style of decoupage.
