Petrodvorets
30 kilometers from St. Petersburg is located Petrodvorets. This is the most famous palace and park composition in Russia, which has declared itself to the whole world. Historians and cultural scientists consider this place the main decoration of St. Petersburg.
The idea of creating this beautiful complex came up with Peter I, who wished to create a residence for himself, not inferior in luxury to the best palaces of the French kings, as well as to Versailles. Peter was so absorbed in this idea that he himself actively participated in the elaboration of the details of the facades and the interior. The result was a stunning complex, decorated with dozens of magnificent fountains.
Mamaev kurgan
Mamaev Kurgan is considered one of the most picturesque places in Russia. This is a unique composition of monuments dedicated to the heroes who fell in the Battle of Stalingrad. The hill itself was named during the Tatar-Mongol invasion. At the top of that period Khan Mamai outpost was located.
Solovetsky Archipelago

Smolensk fortress wall

But most of the water here is Selenga. All this water at the outlet turns into the only river Angara. The depth of the lake inspires - 1637 meters. This is the highest rate for lakes around the world. There are about 30 islands along the Baikal, among which the largest remains Olkhon.
Valley of Geysers
In Kamchatka, there are peculiar natural fountains beating straight from the ground, which themselves remain an amazing phenomenon. In 1941, this valley of geysers was discovered by T. Ustinova. This place is a collection of constantly operating boiling sources that pulsate and emit steam jets. In total, they counted about 40 pieces.
