Ikebana: Ancient Art from Japan
Literally, “ikebana” is an art, a skill in arranging flowers. It uses both fresh flowers and dried dried flowers.
When creating bouquets adhere to strict commandments, which are based on the experience of the great Japanese masters. Before you start creating traditional Japanese ikebana it is useful to know them:
- to achieve the perfect flower arrangement it is not necessary to use beautiful flowers. The pledge of a harmonious bouquet is the correct ratio of elements.
- the composition of the composition takes into account the season and the case in which it is created;
- to start creating a floral bouquet you need in a beautiful mood, in complete peace and tranquility. Only then the result of the work will truly delight you.
- The number of flowers in a Japanese flower arrangement does not matter; there may be an even and an odd number.
Traditional ikebana creation rules
The rules of creating Japanese bouquets of dried flowers evolved over many centuries. The great masters of the art of flower arrangement identified key points that need to be followed to obtain a beautiful flower arrangement.
- The main focus is on the central element, which sets the tone for the whole composition. This may be a large flower, leaves, twigs.
- dynamic distribution of flowers in a bouquet is one of the main conditions for an ideal bouquet. Elements of ikebana are located at a certain angle to the vase or to each other. To achieve this effect, the Japanese prefer to use curved stems of flowers, ornate braided dried flowers.
- Asymmetry is also important for perfect composition. It is not necessary to create fancy bouquets, it is symbolic enough to reflect in them 3 main components of Japanese culture - the sky, the earth and the person.

The procedure for creating autumn flower arrangements:
