Want to create a unique decoration for your home or office? We offer you a simple and effective way to turn empty bottles into beautiful interior items using decoupage technique.
For the manufacture of crafts will need:
- colorful paper with a pattern (you can take a three-layer napkin with a pattern);
- glass bottle or jar;
- alcohol or nail polish remover;
- PVA glue;
- scissors;
- brush with soft bristles.
Let's start
The glass container that you intend to turn into an original thing, first thoroughly wash in hot water, remove from it, if any, labels, dry and degrease with alcohol or nail polish remover.
Cut bright paper into small pieces or carefully tear it into pieces. You can use tissue paper, wrapping paper, magazine clippings, three-layer napkins with beautiful patterns.
Using a soft brush, quickly apply a thin layer of glue to a small area of the prepared glass surface.
Then, with the same brush, grab the desired piece of paper and attach it to the greased area with glue.(If you wish, you can do this procedure with your hands, but then they get soiled into the glue)
Carefully smooth out the glued fragment with a brush so that there are no air bubbles and folds left. Apply another layer of glue to it. Thus gradually fill the entire surface with scraps of paper.
Leave the finished product to dry for 1-2 hours.
Useful tips:
- If in the course of work there are problems and it’s impossible to get rid of kinks and bubbles in any way, then don’t be in a hurry to put a second layer of glue on the product. Wait for the glue on the glass to dry.
- To make paper folds as small as possible, it is recommended to lubricate it with 1: 1 diluted with water with PVA glue. The glued fragment is recommended to begin to smooth from the center to the edges.
- It is better to open the finished craftwork several times with a colorless varnish. In this case, it will have a more perfect look.
- To make decoupage products beautiful, do not be afraid to experiment. Use for decorating objects various floral patterns, decorate them with elements of painting.
