The German car company Volkswagen was established before the start of the Second World War, but their products entered the European market only after the German economy stabilized. Already in the seventies, their cars became the most popular in Europe.
Volkswagen Polo was put on the conveyor of the concern in 1975 and is manufactured to this day; moreover, it is one of the most popular and purchased cars in the world. In the process of evolution, the car was modified, in consequence of which the concern created 5 generations of this model. Already in 2018, they promise to pamper their fans again and to put on sale the sixth generation of the Polo.
The fifth generation of the car was introduced in 2009, and quite recently the German company announced that it was preparing to release a new, sixth model. In order to pay maximum attention to the novelty, information about it appeared gradually. Now the Germans officially announced that the premiere of the car will take place in the fall of 2017, and the new Polo will go on sale in 2018.
It is this model that is among the ten most popular cars in Europe, moreover, in 2010 it was recognized as the car of the year in the world, after which it was engaged in the production of a vehicle in Russia, namely in the city of Kaluga.

By increasing the size of the car manufacturers were able to achieve greater space inside the car. The trunk and its useful volume will also be increased, and the built-in lighting will be a pleasant bonus, which will have a positive effect when using the “tailgate”.
As soon as you get into the car, it becomes immediately noticeable that the center console and the instrument panel are turned to the driver for convenience. The new generation infotainment system will receive a 6.5-inch touchscreen, but this will be available only in more expensive versions of the model.
The multifunctional steering wheel is made in the three-spoke version, and the range of control possibilities from the steering wheel will become more extensive. Upholstery is made of soft plastic, organic color inserts and chrome edging. The front row of seats is equipped with a large range of adjustments, the rear row will become more comfortable and free. For comfort, the car interior will be equipped with LED lighting.
Technical features and variations of complete sets
The updated VW Polo will have an adaptive, electrically controlled suspension, as on expensive cars. The choice of engines remains large and will be able to please every demanding customer. At the moment, it is known that in total there will be 7 variants of power units, 5 of them are petrol and two diesel.
One-liter gasoline engines will be presented immediately in four variations, whose power is 65, 75, 95 and 115 horsepower.Two more powerful options are turbocharged. The last petrol version is a 1.5-liter engine with a power of 150 "horses".
Diesel power units come with a volume of 1.6 liters, while their power will be equal to 80 and 95 horsepower. In addition, the concern stated that it is planned to release a hybrid version of the car, which contains a 3-oh-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor.
The transmission of a small car is less rich in choice and has only two options: a 6-speed manual and a 7-band automatic.
Volkswagen Polo in Russia
Initially it was reported that in Russia the car will not be presented and it is impossible to buy it, which means that only the fifth generation version can be purchased on the market, which has received a number of changes. However, a little later, German manufacturers announced that they were no less actively involved in the development of a sedan of this model.
Thus, it became known that the sedan will initially be presented in Brazil, after which the concern will deal with its modifications and adaptation to bad roads, cold climate, after which they will start selling cars in Russia. After the car is ready for driving on the territory of Russia, the production of the updated model will be launched in Kaluga. Approximately the process of production and production of VW Polo will begin in the second half of 2018, then the same car and go on sale in the domestic market.
