Melodramas are designed to cause the viewer a lot of feelings and affect deep emotions. The characters on the screen are experiencing touching, sad, cute moments that demonstrate their inner world and reveal personal characteristics. Most often, such films end well, which undoubtedly becomes an advantage of these films over others, since a good mood is what everyone expects from watching movie masterpieces.
"Fifty shades darker"
This film was a sequel to the sensational film adaptation of the book “The Fifty Shades of Gray” by E. L. James. In the story, after the break with Christian Gray, the main character, Anastacia, tries to improve her life. She lives in Seattle and works at a local publishing house. Christian regrets about parting and asks the heroine to give him another chance. But an aggressive-minded woman who previously had a relationship with Christian interferes in the new relationship.
The film, rather, is designed for women, as it embodies the feminine dreams of a prince. The breathtakingly rich and handsome men dream of a lady, flood her with gifts and want to be with her forever. Unfortunately, apart from a few erotic scenes and female dreams, there is nothing entertaining in the film. If the first film still deserves attention, then there is nothing to praise the second. Nevertheless, lovers of such scenes pay attention to viewing "Fifty shades darker."
"This whole world"
The story tells about the first teenage love of an eighteen-year-old girl named Maddie. Her life since birth is difficult - the girl is sick. Her overly weak immunity prevents her from leaving the sterile home and in contact with the outside world. She studies remotely, and all her communication is reduced to dating through the Internet. But her life changes when a family with the same age Maddy moves to the next house. Young people notice each other and feelings flare up in them.
The plot of the film is simple: enchanted by a nice guy, the girl is not afraid to risk her life for a couple of full-fledged days. The film is made by aspiring director Stella Magi and is aimed at the romantic ladies. Young actors adequately cope with the task, they look like ordinary teenagers who can easily live in the house next door. If you do not ponder deeply in the transience of teenage feelings and risk bias, the movie may seem quite nice and enjoyable to watch.
"Cold Tango"
In 1941, little Max remains an orphan. The Nazi Antanas settles in his apartment, who, with all his hatred of the Jews, allows the boy to stay in his apartment. Having matured, the boy falls in love with the daughter of Antanas Laima, but he has to part with the girl, as he is sent to Russia to an orphanage. Growing up, Max returns to Lithuania and works as a musician in a restaurant. Having met Lyme again, he realizes that his feelings have not cooled. The girl hates Russians and Jews, but inside her there is a struggle between beliefs instilled from childhood and attachment to Max.
The plot conveys all the injustices of the system and the system that is involved in people's relationships. Indeed, under other external conditions, young people would be able to become a strong family. This movie requires thoughtfulness, since each of the characters is rather complex and ambiguous. The review will be complicated by the fact that the full-length tape is assembled from the “scraps” of the series, which will be released later. Throughout the film, the plot is torn and some moments have to be thought out independently.
"Arrhythmia"
Among the most talked about Russian melodramas of 2017, you can safely call “Arrhythmia”. This is a story about a talented ambulance doctor, whose successes remain only within the workplace. At home, the hero becomes a limp drinking husband, his wife suffering from the current situation. When the spouse decides to divorce, Oleg (the main character) does not even realize that this is the final break. In addition, changes are coming and at work - a new person comes to the post of the head, which radically changes the approach to work.
According to critics, the picture was a real achievement director. She reliably describes life in Russia in fine detail, without slipping into the familiar black stuff. In Oleg, many representatives of the profession recognize themselves. Each of the characters is multifaceted. Thoughtful viewing of the film will allow you to understand a lot about what the authors laid into the essence of each character.
"Two-faced lover"
A young woman turns to psychotherapist Paul for help in her problem. The doctor helps her, but soon a romance flares up between them. The couple begins to live together. Soon the girl accidentally finds out that the lover has a twin brother and he is also a psychotherapist. Out of curiosity, the girl comes to his reception and discovers that Louis is the complete opposite of her brother. Suddenly, Chloe realizes that the qualities of Louis attract her much more than the personality of Paul, with whom she continues to live.
The author's idea should be curious, but the cold and detached game of the main character does not allow the viewer to feel sympathy for her, as the plot requires. The viewer only tries hard to answer the questions posed for himself. At the same time, he absolutely does not intend to experience the horror of what is happening at the same time as the heroine, but only waits to receive a clue.
"The beauty and the Beast"
The plot of the film is no different from the animated version. The sorceress punishes the arrogant prince, turning him into a monster. But it leaves him a chance to rectify the situation, having experienced a feeling of true love until the last petal falls from the magic rose. Fate presented the prince with such an opportunity: once a half-mad inventor wanders into the castle, whom the enchanted prince decides to imprison in his dungeon. The daughter, who rushed to the aid of the father, voluntarily replaces the father in the place of the prisoner. Now the task of the servants of the Monster, who suffered from the enchantment of the sorceress no less than the main character, is to push the young people into each other’s arms.
Critics have condemned decorators. The lock is overloaded with gilding and massive details. In addition, a lively household utensils does not cause the affection and sympathy, as its cartoon counterpart. Subjects remained mostly inanimate, they were only voiced voiceover. And the main drawback of the game cinema is a computer monster, which is noticeably highlighted on the frames of the film. Wherever Belle and the Beast are together, it is clear that the characters are from different realities. Therefore, a joint game of actors is out of the question.
"Mountains between us"
By coincidence, the surgeon Ben and journalist Alex are bound by a common nuisance - their flight is canceled. The heroes decide to hire a private flight, but in the sky an elderly pilot dies of a stroke and the plane falls in the mountains. Miraculously, the surviving passengers understand that no one will look for them. They can only pave the way home.
If we talk about the melodramatic aspect, the film is fully consistent with the genre, though not very bright. If we consider the film as an adventure, which was also stated by the authors, then the heroes can hardly be imagined to be in the balance of death. If you do not count the fall itself, then in the plot only once each of the heroes is in danger of fleeting danger. The rest of the time, the couple either talks by the fire, or goes through the snow-covered woods quite warmly dressed. The absence of conflict eliminates the drama of situations. Therefore, the film with full responsibility can be called boring.
"Space between us"
The story tells about a boy who grew up at a station on Mars. The reason for this was the indiscreet act of his mother, who flies here pregnant 16 years ago and dies in childbirth. The grown-up "Martian" wants to get on the ground in order to find a father and a girl with whom he has long been corresponding. But his body was not used to earthly gravity. The guy has only a few days to solve all earthly issues.
The film received a stream of criticism. Experts felt that the picture is devoid of originality and scientific validity, even in small details. We can safely say that the plot was sucked from the finger, which negates all the attempts of the actors and other participants in the shooting process to make something decent out of the film. The film may be enjoyed, perhaps, only by the fans of the young actor, since the storyline is simply unable to squeeze a single tear from the eyes of everyone else.
"Matilda"
In 1890, Cesarevitch Nicholas II wants to get married with Princess Alice of Hesse-Darmstadt. But unexpectedly, she falls in love with the ballet dancer of the Mariinsky Theater, Matilda Kshesinskaia. The girl is also keen on a high-honored admirer and they start a romance. Idyll destroys the day when Nicholas faces a choice: Matilda or Alice.
Critics are convinced that the film has nothing to do with historical reality. The authors did not even bother to use the real memories of Matilda in the script. As a result, the picture has nothing to do with history, nor to dance, nor to the royal family. Dialogues of characters are full of torn remarks with ambiguous meaning. The picture can only be viewed by people who are unassuming to drama and far from history, and also especially curious, who want to see for themselves the delusional nature of the idea itself.
"Unlucky"
A woman is pursued all her life by small and big troubles. In one of the most difficult days, she is dismissed from school as a teacher. At home, the heroine is also seized with problems — the neighbors want to buy a room from her cheaply and for this they arrange for her all sorts of machinations. One of her friends asks to change her at work. She is a translator and has lost her voice, which will prevent her from holding a meeting. The heroine agrees and, because of this, meets an interesting man businessman Roman. From here can begin a new successful chapter in the life of a former teacher.
The film is simple in plot and shooting. However, she brings warmth and comfort to the soul. Hereditary actress Anna Taratorkina perfectly conveys all the feelings and emotions of the heroine, which allows the viewer to reliably experience all the experiences of "Unlucky."
